Those with allergies live their entire lives constantly fighting off the torrent of discomfort that comes with being sensitive to everything from pet dander to dust to pollen. It can be so devastating as to interfere with the enjoyment of daily activities, something people without allergies wouldn’t understand.
Their suffering just goes to show how essential clean air is living an enjoyable, healthy life. With more and more of the world’s air becoming increasingly polluted, everyone, no matter if they’re allergic or otherwise, is affected. The state of the world air’s quality makes products like Breathe so much more important, a wearable air purifier designed it to eliminate odors, pet dander, dust, pollen, and PM 2.5 particles from a 32-foot radius space from its location — a tall claim considering the product’s minuscule size.
To do this, Breathe distributes negatively charged ions, or anions, that are attracted to these irritants and pollutants and either break them down or force them to stick to nearby surfaces. Because of this, no filters are necessary and its battery can last up to 30 hours. This cleaning also has the effect of increasing concentration and boosting energy, as well. $99 gets backers a Breathe device by July 2016. The Breathe Indiegogo campaign is looking for $10,000 by June 2nd, 2016.
Despite the science, it’s hard to believe that the Breathe is as effective as it claims to be in a 65-foot space. It’s easy to see how the immediate space around the person who’s wearing might be positively affected, but overall, that’s a lot of room for something so tiny to effectively purify. In contrast, the GiftAir portable purifier is way bigger and only purifies a 22-inch radius space. Breathe seems a little too good to be true, and when that’s the case, it probably means something is off. That would be a shame as there aren’t really any truly portable air purifiers available — a product like this would change a lot of people’s lives.
