JmGO View smart projector is a personal you-tube for video

editors-choiceThe portable LED projector market continues to grow, with smart functionality among the features becoming especially popular.

JmGO View is a tube-like portable projector that offers that and several other high-end features, including stereoscopic 3D, Texas Instruments DLP, full metal casing made of aluminum alloy, and surround sound audio with built-in Dolby Digital Plus speakers. It works in conjunction with an Android app, and can be used anywhere to project movies, videogames and other video content in widescreen 1280 x 720 pixel HD resolution onto any white, flat surface.

The projector connects to a PC or TV via HDMI. Other features include 16 GB of internal storage. It can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker alone.  The vowel-challenged JmGO View ships in May at future pricing of $699. But early bird Indiegogo backers can get one for a pledge starting at $449. Its makers hope to raise $100,000 by March 24.

The many useful and high-end functions make JmGO View stand out in a crowded field. Advantages that it has over the similar Z4 Aurora include better-quality sound and the DLP, but Z4 supports 4K resolution and JmGO View doesn’t. Other pluses of JmGO View include its water bottle-like shape and light weight. Other negatives, on the other hand, include the lack of iOS support.
