What’s worse than coming home after a long day at work craving a beer and realizing there’s none there? Warm beer. Having only warm beer available is objectively worse.
Through some clever design, the team behind the Ice Jack is looking to end the practice of waiting far too long for beer to cool to an appropriately potable temperature. The product attaches to the tops of most beverages (but most importantly, beer), spinning it around while submerged in ice at a rapid rate to aid in cooling. The result is a beverage that is about 38° in just 2.5 minutes versus far longer without it.
It runs on 3 AA batteries and for a large event like a pool party or a tailgate party, that means you need a lot of batteries. A single Ice Jack is $20 while 2 goes for $30, and it’s expected to ship May 2016. The campaign is looking for $25,000 during their Flexible Funding campaign that ends December 31st, 2015.
While other products like the Boombox Cooler, Icebuddy and even Kreweser go out of their way to add lots of extra functions and even transport option, the plight of the warm beer holder isn’t addressed by any of them. For that alone, the team behind Ice Jack deserves some praise for a rather unique product. Anything requiring AA batteries, though, has to be considered slightly — a pain point the team will hopefully address with the next iteration.
