The Flcikerstip connected LED strip lets your imagination shine bright

Everyone could use more bright, colorful lights in their lives and, contrary to popular opinion, Christmas needn’t be the only time during the year for them. Julian Hartline, founder of HOhmBody, thought the same and created the Flickerstrip so that anyone could brighten up any environment however they’d like.

The Flickerstip is a strip of Wi-Fi connected, decorative LED lights that can be arranged in a variety of ways at home, at parties, or even for art installations. Its companion desktop or smartphone app gives users the option to either downloaded pre-made light configurations that run the gamut from simple, repeating patterns to complex, dazzling arrangements or just make their own.

Not every lighting option need be a kaleidoscopic experience, though, as various options for white and mood lighting are available, too.
One 10-foot Flickerstip goes for $98 and is expected to ship by December 2016 should its Kickstarter campaign raise $9,200.

The Flickerstrip is a fun little product that can go a long way as added flair to a home or an essential element of a party setup. From the campaign itself, the product’s lighting seems a bit tacky but that’s probably something aided by experiencing it in person. While the Flickerstip is more for decoration, the similar Luminoodle LED strip is all about utility, trading it customization and rainbow colors for a rugged, flexible, and waterproofed construction that can be taken anywhere from the home to the wilds.
