GrillOven is a dome on the range

One of the best time-saving techniques in the kitchen is when a meal can be cooked all in one pan or baking dish. GrillOven allows for it to be cooked all in one multipurpose gadget. It’s made of industrial quality stainless steel, and the dome shape helps to keep the heat in and reduces the time of cooking. This kitchen tool can be used for baking pot pies, quiches, and pizza; smoking, baking or grilling meats; steaming vegetables and more. It’s portable, but a small chicken or nine inch pizza can still fit in it.

Those who cook know that some dishes require browning on the stove and then cooking in the oven. GrillOven combines these two processes in one in a cool and unique way. It may, however, be a bit awkward to store in over-crowded cupboards. This campaign seeks to raise $35,000 by December 27, 2014. For $13, backers get one product with an expected delivery of March 2015.

Congelato makes sure your food keeps its cool while you serve it

Keeping food on ice so that it has a pleasant and fresh appearance for presentation and also stays safe to eat at parties is something of a hassle. The makers of Congelato wanted to find a better way. Their idea is to use icepacks and stainless steel pans to keep food cold when it is time to take it out of the refrigerator and enjoy the meal. Food will stay cold for up to 24 hours, but icepacks must be placed in the freezer for 2-4 hours in advance.

Congelato can also be used to keep food hot if the packs are placed in boiling water for about 15 minutes, but food only remains hot for about 90 minutes, so the product seems to be much more oriented toward cold dishes. If one can prep by freezing the packs to use this product, then it seems like a great way to keep food cool. This campaign seeks to raise $200,000 CAD (~$176,400 USD) by December 14, 2014. Early bird backers get one basic product for $85 CAD (~$75 USD) with an expected delivery of May 2015.

Connected Bruvelo brewer is a coffee snob’s best friend

Pour over coffee has become all the rage, probably because it’s easy to make at home without the coffee machine. The idea is to place the coffee grounds directly above the mug and pour hot water through the coffee to brew. Bruvelo is a smart, amped up pour over coffee machine. It filters the water, controls flow, adjusts temperature, and weighs and grinds the beans. Best of all, it connects via Wi-Fi to an accompanying app which holds information about different types of coffee you like. This way, you can balance flavor profiles and choose the best way to brew any particular kind of coffee. If you’re not that finicky with your coffee, skip the app because it’s optional. This is a truly all in one coffee machine that thinks no detail is too small in preparing your morning caffeine fix. Bruvelo’s ease of use and convenience will certainly make it a contender with other smart coffee makers. One will cost backers $350 for delivery in June 2015. Bruvelo is looking to raise $150,000 on Kickstarter.

Kronholm Design plastic wrap dispenser thinks out of the box

How to get just the right amount of plastic wrap off of the box without it ripping or clinging to itself is a challenge that we’ve all faced. For those who have better things to do with their time than attempt to unravel that, there is Kronholm. This particular dispenser is made of ABS plastic and actually has some sharp teeth for cutting through plastic wrap. In addition, it’s easy to clean and assemble. Kronholm also ups the ante on aesthetic, looking sleeker than most other plastic dispensers. This is hardly the first company to try to make a better plastic wrap dispenser. Jimbox is one case in point. For those who would like to get away from the plastic wrap scene and go for lids instead, check out the Silicon Lid campaign. This campaign seeks to raise kr60,000 (~$10,300) by December 3, 2014. For kr 250 DDK (~$42) backers get one product with an expected delivery of March 2015.

EZ Scramble has eggs skip the skillet, lets you nuke it

Eggs and toast can be one of the most satisfying breakfasts. But the amount of time it takes to cook scrambled eggs combined with all the preparation means that most people can only enjoy them on the weekends. EZ Scramble aims to change that. Made of flexible, FDA grade silicone, the microwavable gadget holds up to four eggs. One beaten egg fits in each pocket, and it takes one minute for each egg to cook. Eggs are actually healthier when cooked in this way because it’s not necessary to use any oil or butter, and they still turn out light and fluffy.

While it is possible to cook eggs in a microwave using a glass bowl, the cooked on mess is a real pain to deal with when it’s time to clean up. The silicone holder apparently prevents that, and it’s dishwasher safe too. This campaign seeks to raise $10,000 by November 20, 2014. Backers can get their very own EZ Scrambler for $15, with an expected delivery of February 2015.

PopcornBall s a sphere of cheer to season salty snacks

Popcorn comes in many different flavors. With the help of seasonings, spicing up popcorn is simple. Mixing the seasonings in, however, can be a bit more difficult. As a lightweight food, popcorn doesn’t ever want to stay in the bowl when being tossed. The PopcornBall is designed specifically for mixing popcorn and other foods as well. Simply put the popcorn and seasoning in the ball, close the lid and spin it around. The popcorn can be eaten directly out of the ball. One will cost backers $15 which includes seasonings for estimated delivery in May 2015. PopcornBall hopes to raise $50,000 on Kickstarter.

PopcornBall is one of those products that may make food preparation easier, but clutters up the kitchen. While it may make popcorn up-spicing easier, the space it takes up may not be worth it. However, PopcornBall would make a great gift for anyone who consumes large amounts of popcorn.

Trivae shifts from holding pot lids to plates with aplomb

Open flames, piping hot pots and pans, and never enough room — kitchens can certainly be a taxing environment, and cooking in one can be a bit of a puzzle. With so many moving pieces floating around, you’re bound to get tied up with hands full while a pressing matter is vying for your attention. In an attempt to free up hands stuck in indecision, Trivae is a heat-resistant, cast iron lid holder and dual trivet that always gives you a place to put down random lids, plates, or pans. It makes the transition from kitchen assistant pretty well when you expand it out to serve as a presentation stand as well. Some smart design decisions were implemented into the design of the product, including a spine that curves away from whatever is on top in its flat layout, and non-slip rubber pads to avoid slippage. When you’re done, the product’s single trivet option also doubles as a way to conveniently store the product, addressing storage issues just like the Armadillo Colander does. A donation of $50 gets interested backers their very own Trivae in May of 2015. A $50,000 campaign goal is the only thing stopping Trivae from beginning production.

Silicon Lids greet your bowls with a cover-up

Ever wonder if the lids for kitchen storage containers sprout legs and run away? Foil and plastic wrap can take their place, but they don’t lock in freshness and keep the refrigerator nearly as organized as a container that has a lid. So, the makers of Silicon Lids are offering an alternative that makes for an airtight seal, and can go from the freezer to microwave, or refrigerator to oven. The lids are heat resistant up to 460 degrees Fahrenheit, have a unique design to the eye, and an easy-to-grasp handle. There are also multiple sizes and colors from which to choose. And when it’s time to clean off that caked-on food from pots, pans and bowls, backers might also be glad to have KlampShell to make the scouring a little easier.  This campaign seeks to raise $15,000 by November 18, 2014. For $15, backers get four lids that are four inches each. Expected delivery is December 2014.
