Beer pong isn’t just a frat bro’s claim to fame anymore. Phinneas Innovations LLC wants to get the storied game out from college campuses and into the livers of those everywhere with their Oche Pong, a modified version that tilts the cups at a 45° angle, hangs them on the nearest wall, and transforms the game. It also has feet for those places without walls, like the beach, or tailgating parties. $35 is the asking price for the novelty, while the company is looking for $34,000 to it into homes by February 2015 the latest.
The Organi system of organization is completely made of recyclable materials such as boxes, wine bottle corks and more. Organi components are cut into sets using a laser cutter and then assembled by hand. One of the goals of the founders is that all parts would be manufactured and assembled in the USA. Perhaps one of the bigger challenges for this campaign is the very basic college dormish appearance of the components – especially when Amazon can offer items such as wall pockets, mountable shelving units and other options for becoming more organized. There are also a couple of similar campaigns focusing on organization. For a contribution of $15, a backer gets the basic Minimalist SE set, which consists of an acrylic link and two pivots. Larger donations include more components. Expected delivery is July 2014.
Organization products don’t come much simpler than stuckToIU. With a name that sounds like it came from an ’80s pop single, the magnetic disc is affixed to your wall ready to hang your keys or other small metal object like an Old West outlaw. The video for the modest $3,500 campaign begins with a jerky slow-mo shot of keys literally being flung at the the stuckToU, which catches them neatly despite the clattering aftershocks from impact. After a $12 early bird, the reward prices shoot up to $45 for a “once in a lifetime” custom magnetic disc. The better course is to use a bit more of that lifetime to wait until the thing ships and pay $15 for it if you miss the early bird. StuckToU is slated to adorn the walls of backers in June 2014.
