Happy Poo plunges to new depths in unclogging toilets

Happy PooEveryone is familiar with that sinking feeling that comes with observing that the toilet is clogged up and about to overflow yet again. The creator of Happy Poo argues that his invention is more sanitary and eliminates issues of splash back caused by a standard plunger, but it looks like it takes more effort and involves far more undesired close contact with the toilet. It also appears to be a knockoff of the Korean product Pung-too. In addition, $8 for one product seems a bit pricy when an old fashioned plunger, which can be reused when necessary, can be purchased for as little as about $6, but this could be more effective at times. Anticipated delivery would be November 2014.

Cabreezy Beach Cabana keeps bodies shaded on the go

For those who prefer lounging in the shade with some cool lemonade rather than getting a tan at the beach, Cabreezy Beach Cabana has the solution. The creator boasts of the product being more portable and safer than beach umbrella and shelter alternatives, but it appears to take some effort to set up and doesn’t appear to give off as much shade as its seven foot and eight foot alternatives. Nevertheless, backers can get theirs for $50 with an expected delivery of September 2014

Sock Slide holds pairs together in the washing machine void

Sock SlideIt’s been said that there is a black hole in every washing machine into which one sock always falls, breaking up most every set. While Sock Slide may not reveal the location of past socks, it does solve potential future mysteries. It also comes in six different colors so that each family member can have their own color, and similar sets can be easily told apart. Seems like a great idea for adults, and $7 for five Sock Slides seems like a pretty good deal. However, getting kids to follow through with this seems like it may be a rather daunting challenge. Expected delivery on this is September 2014.

The MostFit lets users hammer away for a healthier body

MostFitFinally! A good workout for Gallagher and his fans. Although the watermelons aren’t included, the MostFit will certainly do the job once they are available. This oversized rubber mallet will surely be a great stress reliever as users choose whether to pound it on the street or sidewalk outside of their home, the basement floor, or an industrial rubber or carpet floor. For added fun, consider putting a 21st century spin on the old fashioned block party idea and invite  friends and neighbors over for a slamming party. While this might make for a good workout, a pricey $145 may have would-be customers pounding their fists in protest.  Expected delivery is October 2014.

Ritot lets you know the time and texts like the back of your hand

RitotShades of Star Trek the Next Generation have hit the watch industry. In what way? Ritot allows its users to project the time as a sort of holographic image. A miniaturization of the projection clock that wowed us in the 1970s, the time piece offers an option of either a bracelet or sporty band style and projects either 12 or 24 hour time in over 20 colors. It also offers a phone app that projects notification of incoming calls, text messages and more. It may be a way to overcome the limited real estate of watches or simply a way to impress friends, neighbors, and coworker. However, it seems like overkill for those who rarely let their phone out of their sight or hearing range.  It also seems a bit pricy at $100, even if this is $60 off the anticipated retail.

Smash Cup makes life more convenient for coffee drinkers

Smash CupMobile java might be the primary reason why corporate America is able to begin its day at around 8am or so.  But what to do with that travel coffee mug when the black gold that it contains is all gone? Likely inspired by travel cups designed to help with the consumption of drugs other than caffeine, Smash Cup suggests putting it in one’s pocket or purse. The leak-proof treasure trove shrinks from 5” to 1.75” and comes in multiple colors. It’s compactness and dishwasher-friendlinesse may be appealing to many coffee drinkers, but the inventors will have to prove the $15 value to those who rack up the points on their Starbucks app. Expected delivery would be October 2014.
