Chill Lizard watches over cans chilling in the freezer, tells you when they’re ready

If it is indeed true that global warming is, in part, caused by consuming warm beer, then Chill Lizard seems to have a most noble cause. The Chill Lizard band gets attached to one’s beverage of choice, set for one’s desired temperature, and the coaster buzzes when the beverage has hit the ideal cool spot, averting explosive freezer messes. The wireless sensor in the band is how the coaster receives the alert, similar to a system used in various restaurants for when a table is ready for waiting customers. The product automatically defaults to a temperature of 36 degrees and can be adjusted up or down. It will go as low as 29 degrees for frozen treats.

Chill Lizard is apparently designed with an American marketplace in mind since there doesn’t seem to be a Celsius indicator available. Provided the wireless connection will work from inside the freezer, this product is great for those who can’t plan ahead enough to put beverages in the fridge. This campaign seeks to raise $30,000 by December 30, 2014. For $30, backers get one product and an expected delivery of February 2015.

Glacious LE creates frozen spheres that let it go slowly when melting

Many would say that the cold never bothered them anyway, but a watered down drink is another story. So the creators of Glacious LE have figured out a way to redesign the ice cube so that it is more effective. The product’s claim to fame is that it creates spherically shaped ice, which takes longer to melt than any other shape of ice. That means that it takes longer for the drink to become watered down. The product is made of aluminum and boasts of not requiring any electricity to make the ice.

It seems like there is a lot of detail missing regarding how and why this product is truly effective. Interested backers may also want to check out the Icealot campaign. Those who are especially partial to a cold drink that they don’t have to fetch for themselves might want to check out the Rover campaign. This campaign seeks to raise $10,000. For $99, backers get one product with expected delivery in January 2015.

Spot-Not ensures your wine glasses are clear, saves you cheap detergent embarrassment

When hosting a dinner party or holiday get-together, glassware with water spots can be an embarrassment at an elegant soiree. That’s why the Spot-Not drying system was created. The glassware dryer has a multi-petal core that fits into any size wine glass. A microfiber towel dries up to 15 glasses and can be washed and reused. The magnetic decanter dryer includes a drying cloth with two embedded magnets for conforming to the inside of the decanter, and a drying mitt with embedded magnets for the outside. As the outside drying mitt is moved around, so is the inside drying cloth.

Spot-Not may also have a place in the restaurant industry because countless servers often have to spend lots of time polishing glasses for patrons. Wine-loving backers might also want to check out the Sonic Decanter campaign. This campaign seeks to raise $8,000 CAD (~$7,000 USD). Early bird backers get the complete system for $40 CAD (~$35 USD) with an expected delivery of January 2015.

Degono tea and coffee press promises to retain true grit

There’s something about the smell and taste of freshly brewed coffee or tea that just makes the morning (or evening wind-down) more pleasant. Degono offers a product that not only brews the best morning beverages, resembling a French press, but also simplifies clean-up with its “grounds away cleaning system,” setting it apart from other coffee and tea makers. The grounds are trapped between two filters, one at the bottom and the other on the top. This coffee press also works well with loose tea, allowing the user control of how strong their tea will be through the use of the unique filtration system. In addition, Degono is dishwasher safe.

It’s not clear if brands other than Degono brand coffee or tea can be used in the product or not. Coffee loving backers may also want to check out the Artist, Bruvelo, and Brewover campaigns. This campaign seeks to raise £27,980 (~$44,000). Early bird backers get one product for £20 (~$31), with an expected delivery date of May 2015.

Vini wine topper measures PH, temperature to check if wine is fine

Corked and sealed wine lasts forever. However, as soon as it’s unsealed, it begins to go bad. The only way to tell if it’s bad is to taste it. While it’s not as bad as spoiled milk, that sour taste can still put one off of wine entirely for the night.

Vini never wants a bad bottle of wine to be tasted ever again. This digital monitor tests wine to figure out if it’s still good to drink. Looking like a meat thermometer, place Vini in the wine and push the button. First, it’ll display the wine’s temperature. With another tap of the button, it will show its pH level. To the layman, this information may not mean much, but Vini comes with a chart to help interpret the data. In addition, Vini is a bottle stopper, so it serves more than just to taste wine for you.

For wine enthusiasts, Vini is an extremely useful device. This product certainly has potential in the market because those who love wine, really love wine and will do anything for the perfect glass. Backers can have their own for $40 CAD (~$35 USD) for delivery in July 2015. Vini is looking to raise $40,000 CAD (~$35,000 USD)  on Kickstarter.

Tailmo keeps party cups in place even as the world starts to spin

Whether it’s coffee, soda or otherwise, being able to take one’s choice of beverage on the road is comforting for any long trip.  While there are multiple cup holders out there, Tailmo was created with party-goers in. The special feature here is that everyone’s favorite little red cup fits nicely in something that’s magnetized. So whether it’s a tailgate party or outdoor sporting event on those really uncomfortable metal bleachers, the beer has a better chance of staying put until drinking it commences. And oh yeah, it’s insulated so that it stays cold, too – or the coffee stays hot when it’s time to sober up.

While this is a nice idea, perhaps some sort of lid reminiscent of a travel mug’s should also have been included so as to further minimize spills when walking or staggering from place to place. This campaign seeks to raise $75,000 by December 24, 2014. Early bird backers get one product for $8, with an expected delivery of February 2015.

Oxx Coffeeboxx takes on tough conditions to make smooth blends

Coffee. It is the black gold of the working world. It keeps professionals awake at their board meetings and computers, and helps blue collar workers overcome Monday morning headaches and winter weather storm warnings. Oxx Coffeeboxx was built for rugged environments where an extra lift may be needed when the tire jack just doesn’t get it; large, heavy metal objects have been known to plunge to the ground, and basically, a good coffee maker can take some abuse and still brew a decent cup of java. This product is able to keep any blue collar crew happily quaffing their coffee, even if, as the video suggests, Oxx ends up on the wrong end of a demolition team.

For those occasions when the environment is less extreme and a more delicate cup of coffee is preferred, backers might want to check out the Bruvelo and BrewOver campaigns. This campaign seeks to raise $50,000 by December 29, 2014. Early bird backers get one product for $225, with an expected delivery of March 2015.

Rover remote control cooler delivers cold ones on your command

We’re all lazy. Most of us are only motivated to get up by the urge to use the bathroom or hunger. Rover caters to this type of attitude. This remote-controlled cooler has wheels that can travel on most types of terrain, including sand. Shaped like a little jeep, this cooler can hold up to 60 cans and has LED lights for use in the dark. It also has several cup holders making it useful as a table as well. Get the Rover with MLB or NFL sports decal, your favorite college’s logo or with no logo at all. A special offer letting you purchase Rover with your own logo is in the works.

Due to the unfortunate above-mentioned lazy nature of the human race, Rover makes a great addition to any camping party, picnic or beach outing. The remote is a little clunky, but that only makes it difficult to lose. If the remote does happen to get lost, Rover users will have to actually get up, tragically. In terms of convenience, Rover ups the ante from the Kreweser Cooler that lets you ride a cooler around. Rover is better for getting drinks around to lots of people, though it won’t tote you around too. One will cost backers $249 with estimated delivery in December 2014. Rover is looking to raise $45,000 on Kickstarter.

BitBite tracks your chews to help you lose

It seems like for most, diets live in a perpetual revolving door. Most are started with the greatest of intentions, but it isn’t long before the rigors of daily life make it so that the easily accessible, unhealthy food is chosen every time. As such, maintaining a diet can be an extremely difficult test of willpower. A helpful companion, like the BitBite, can be a huge help in changing damaging habits.

Although other diet helpers like the HAPIfork or the Smart utensils have been introduced as ways to help you eat slower and better, the BitBite takes the technology and makes it a wearable that you place in your ear instead. The hybrid Bluetooth headset is compatible with iOS and Android, and is voice-activated so you can tell it what you’re about it to eat. When that’s done, the device tracks the number of bites you’ve taken along with the pace of your meals. By combining all of that information, your dietary habits are gleaned so as to improve it on the fly with real-time suggestions. Not getting enough calcium? It’ll suggest you eat a yogurt instead of that donut you’re craving.

Smart food suggestions are what make the BitBite a valuable ally in your overall goals. You won’t even have to carry an extra set of silverware everywhere you go. A BitBite can be had for $119 with an estimated delivery date of June 2015. The campaign is looking for a $60,000 infusion.
